Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known as Ari Lennox, is an American singer and musician born in Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. Her first single was released with the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she gained notoriety. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May 2019. Ari Lennox released her music online in 2012 when she released the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. Ari Lennox continued posting her music on the internet, including her self-released single Bound. She was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as in Sweat It Out on the 21st of July the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then and wanted her to create Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. The official signing ceremony was held by Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. She released Pho, her debut album on the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change, and she performed on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening act. In 2018, Ari Lennox performed on two tracks featuring EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July 2018 she released her debut single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. The music video was released on September 5th. Then, in November, she released two singles, 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. On the 13th of November, two brand new singles, titled No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the track as a single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. This track, which was released with a video uploaded to YouTube February 20, 2019 was watched more than 3 million times within the first seven days. In December 2018 she was a supporting act on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
